Find answers on opening an account, paying in, statements and regulation.
Opening an account
How do I open an account?
Complete an application online or on paper, provide your ID or passport, KRA PIN and a photo, choose your funds and currency, and transfer your investment to our collection account. You can start the Investcent Money Market Fund with KES 2,000 or USD 20.
Can I open an account for a child, or with someone else?
Yes. A parent or guardian can open and run an account for a child, and two people can hold a joint account, once the relevant application forms and KYC are complete.
Are the funds open to institutions as well as individuals?
Yes. Individuals and institutions can both invest, subject to each fund's minimum investment and KYC requirements.
Paying in and switching
Can I pay by mobile money or online banking?
Yes. Pay by bank transfer to our SBM Bank collection accounts, listed on the Fund your account page, or by M-Pesa Paybill. Always quote your investment account number as the reference.
How do I top up my investment?
Use the same payment channels and quote your investment account number, which starts with HK for Kenya shilling accounts and HU for US dollar accounts. Share the payment confirmation with us so we can allocate it promptly.
Can I switch from one fund to another?
Yes. Complete a switch form and send it to our team.
What is the difference between the KES and USD classes?
Kenya shilling classes are priced in shillings and invest mainly in local-currency assets. US dollar classes are priced in dollars and invest mainly in dollar assets or dollar-linked instruments, which adds currency diversification.
Statements and performance
How do I track my investment?
You receive a monthly statement, and you can see current prices and yields in the client portal. Fact sheets, newsletters and the Weekly Market Intelligence give more detail, and a mobile app is in development.
How do you manage risk in the funds?
Through diversification across asset classes and issuers, active asset allocation, continuous monitoring, and strict regulatory and internal risk limits. Returns are not guaranteed, and past performance is not a guide to future performance.
